Happening at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on October 28-30, 2011.

Meet our 2011 Guests of Honor

Author Guest of Honor: Jane Yolen

Jane Yolen, often called “the Hans Christian Andersen of America,” is
the author of over 300 books, including Owl Moon, The Devil’s Arithmetic, and How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight. The books range from rhymed picture books and baby board books, through middle grade fiction, poetry collections, nonfiction, and up to novels and story collections for young adults and adults.

Artist Guest of Honor: Steve Thomas

When not at my day job, I try to come up with new and interesting ideas for illustrations. My love for vintage poster, propaganda and product art from the early 20th century and an interest in retro-futuristic and pulp art from the mid-20th has led me to create some fun (I think) poster art. I mean, who doesn’t want to travel the solar system or join the fight against the villains of 1980s arcade games?

Special Guest: Adam Stemple

Adam Stemple is an author, musician, web designer, and professional card player.  He has written 4 novels, including Pay the Piper (with Jane Yolen), winner of the 2006 Locus Award winner for Best Young Adult Book. Of his debut solo novel, Singer of Souls, Anne McCaffrey said, “One of the best first novels I have ever read.”
